Partner (CP / BFF) pairing
Two players can pair their characters so that a confirmed partner stands beside you in the showcase scene. There are two bond types:
- CP — couple / partner
- BFF — best friend
Enable or disable the whole feature with partnerInvite in settings/options.lua:
partnerInvite = true,Sending an invite
Partner invites are sent from the character-selector menu only. The old /partnerinvite in-game command has been removed — there is no chat command for players. Open the selector's partner modal, pick an online player, choose CP or BFF, and send.
How it flows:
- The inviter opens the partner modal; it lists currently-online players.
- They choose a player and a bond type and send the invite.
- The invite is queued against the target character for up to 10 minutes. It is delivered as a corner toast the moment the target views that character on the selector (instantly if they are already looking at it).
- On Accept, the partner link is saved on both sides (best-effort reverse link if the inviter is online), and each now appears beside the other.
Invites are held in memory and reset on a resource restart.
Admin override
Admins can force a pairing without an invite using the restricted command:
/forcepartner [targetCitizenid] [cp|bff]Badges
Each character can carry a small badge — an icon plus a short label (max 12 characters) — shown on its selector card. Players set it from the settings panel; clearing the text removes the badge. Badges are stored per-character in the player's KVP and update on the card immediately.
Per-player settings
The in-UI settings panel lets each player tune the look of their own selector. Choices are persisted client-side (KVP) and re-applied every time the selector opens. Defaults come from settings/options.lua:
defaultSettings = {
forceDisableBlurMode = false,
fpsMode = false,
cinematicMode = false,
fovPosition = 0, -- 0 = default, 1 = close, 2 = far
animList = { 'WORLD_HUMAN_STAND_MOBILE', 'WORLD_HUMAN_SMOKING',
'WORLD_HUMAN_STAND_IMPATIENT', 'WORLD_HUMAN_AA_COFFEE' },
characterPosture = 'side', -- 'side' or 'front'
},| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
Blur (forceDisableBlurMode) |
Turns off the background depth-of-field blur. |
FPS mode (fpsMode) |
A lighter-weight mode for lower-end machines. |
Cinematic bars (cinematicMode) |
Letterbox black bars for a filmic frame. |
Camera distance (fovPosition / fov) |
0 default, 1 close (zoom in), 2 far (zoom out). |
Idle animation (animList) |
The pool of GTA-native idle scenarios the ped plays when a scene has no emote. |
Posture (characterPosture) |
side or front framing of the ped. |
| Weather / time / filter | Override the forced weather, clock and a color (timecycle) filter live. |
| Blackout | Kills the city lights for a permanent-night look. |
Every value applied from the UI is guarded server-side and client-side, so a malformed setting can never crash the selector. Players can reset everything back to the configured defaults from the panel.
